The Restaurant Le Petit Africain, located in the Tamsui area, is a rare West African cuisine restaurant. In Taiwan, one does not often see the kind of exotic foods that Le Petit Africain offers. The owner Rene Quedraogo and Chef Amedam Agbessi Felix come from the West African nation of Burkina Faso and Togo, while Quedrago's wife Chang Hsun, a Taiwanese local, helps with overall operations. The menu consists of dishes such as: peanut soup, grilled fish, chicken in almond sauce, or beef stew, all served with couscous or rice with a healthy assortment of other dishes. A must-try of the restaurant is the grill beef in West African style.

African wines and other specialty drinks are also available. The prices range from NT$50-100 for appetizers and NT$200-250 for main courses. The interior of Le Petit Africain is warm and welcoming with decorations paying homage to the restaurant's African roots. It is a cozy spot which sometimes entertains guests with African drumming performances. If you are looking for a special taste of Africa, Le Petit Africain is the place to go.
